Executive Sous Chef
For Cody Vasek, executive sous chef, the kitchen at Hotel ICON is familiar territory. He served as executive sous chef for the location's previous tenant, BANK Jean-Georges, where he was instrumental in the opening of the noteworthy venue as well as production of the property's premium catering and room service offerings. Also during his time at BANK, Vasek was granted the opportunity to train directly with famed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten in New York.
A graduate of The Art Institute of Houston, Vasek earned his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts in 1999. He has held posts in the kitchens of Houston's Riviera Grill, Mockingbird Bistro, Sambucca Jazz Café and The Brownstone. Vasek also served as executive chef at the Lemon Tree Café in Bellville, TX.
Vasek's Texas roots and professional experience in the region has allowed him to develop strong relationships local farmers and farming networks across the state.
